Respite Care

Respite care is there to support you and your carer for short periods of time. It can give you both a break and can also give you the chance to meet new people. What respite care looks like depends on your situation.

Respite Care is an opportunity for a person who has a carer needing a break, or for those with increased needs of assistance or support services to try Taralga for a short-term period. It can help if you wish to have a break from caring for yourself, whilst recovering from a procedure or your while your carer is unwell or going away.

Your time in short term care will offer you an opportunity to experience Taralga’s delivery of services and care.

When you receive residential respite, you are entitled to the same care and support services as permanent residents of the aged care home. For example, you will be given a room and services such as meals, laundry, and social activities, as well as services to meet your personal and care needs.

Are you a carer? It’s important you remember your own wellbeing.  Taralga’s respite care is a great option if you wish to take a break and relax.  You can have peace of mind knowing your loved one is being well cared for whilst you’re away.

We can offer up to 63 days of respite to an individual each year.
